Stay-At-Home Moms: How To Turn Your “Useless” Hobby Into a Profitable Home Business

If you are NOT a working mother, maybe you should stop reading it right here. Only working mothers will be able to truly appreciate all my feelings and reasons why I am writing this.

When my second son was 23 days old I had to go back to work. So I continued working 23 days after I gave a birth. Not because I am such a trooper. I just did not have much of a choice back then. Now, when I am thinking about it, I am flinching in horror – if I have more kids I will never do it again, ever! (I will explain you in the next few paragraphs why exactly I won’t do it again!). When you have a baby plus older kids and work outside the house, it doesn’t matter if you work full-time or part-time, it is equally hard. Sleepless nights, baby cry, baby-sitters that you don’t trust, attempts to stay awake and be concentrated at work, tons of things to do and no time – does this sound familiar to you? Probably yes, if you have kids and have to go to work.

When my baby was 6 months old I was so exhausted physically that could easily fall asleep if leaned against the wall. After sleepless nights I was getting lots of stress at work, and it looked like there was no end to it. In order to survive, I had to do something. I had to find a way out of this labyrinth. In a meanwhile, when my baby boy was sleeping, I was spending hours staring at the computer screen with my red-rimmed eyes, reading and writing e-mails to family and friends, and just browsing the internet. Well, here I have to admit – I am a computer addict and an internet junkie. When I exchange e-mails and find something interesting to read on the net, it gives me a lot of relaxation and pleasure. I wouldn’t trade it even for an extra hour of sleep. Nice and easy hobby of mine.

Questions were popping up in my head one after another. Home-based business? Internet business? Yes, I started to think about this kind of opportunity hoping that it would help me stay home with kids and still be able to produce some monetary income. But WHAT would I do? I honestly had no idea. And here my adventures started. I was grabbing and trying out every more or less decent “home business” proposal I could find on the net. I was trying to start numerous affiliate programs. Most of those programs and proposals had one thing in common: they were not as good as they claimed to be. They all promised to bring me income when I did not have to work much OR did not have to work at all. Guess what started to happen? I started to lose money instead of making it. That was probably the most frustrating year in my business life.

However, I remained loyal to my e-mail and internet interest, was still spending lots of time on the net looking for another opportunity and one day I found it. I read an article (that was recommended by a friend) about Media Placement program offered by Global Cash Flow Network. Well, by that time I taught myself how to be skeptical about get-rich-quick schemes. But this one was different. It did not promise millions one week after you start working, it did not promise leisure time on a beach while everything would be automatically done for you and your job would be to go to the bank and cash your million-dollar checks. Unfortunately, I had to stop my work for a while because of kids’ sicknesses, lack of spare time and other things to do for my family. Just remember to be very persistent and very patient and you will succeed. Even me, working mom of two, could do it at my own slow pace.

I am still working my day job but only for another month – they need time to find a replacement for me! And I am still sitting at the computer while kids are napping. But now I do it with one little difference. I do not waste my time forwarding stupid chain letters by e-mail anymore. I am placing media and I am making money. Now I feel obligated to share. When you make money on something it is good to give something back.
